Principal Engineer - Integration Engineering (Semiconductor)

Location: Essex Junction, Vermont, United States. Fully onsite, Monday–Friday daytime schedule, with minor weekend coverage as needed.

Salary: $85,000–$146,000 per year.

What you will do

• Own a semiconductor technology module, prioritize projects based on business needs, delegate tasks, define improvement experiments, and lead hardware disposition.
• Sustain and improve manufacturing technologies by enhancing product quality, reducing defectivity, improving Cp/Cpk and process stability, and increasing processing efficiency.
• Use data analysis to detect line issues and drive timely containment and resolution to limit yield and delivery impact.
• Collaborate with device and process-module teams on development work for new production technologies.
• Drive cost reductions through expense elimination, line and test yield improvement, and efficiency improvements.
• Perform work safely and support Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline plus 4–5 years of semiconductor manufacturing or related experience; or an MS plus 2–4 years of relevant experience; or a PhD plus 1–2 years of relevant experience.
• Working knowledge of active and passive devices and intimate knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing methods.
• Fluency in written and verbal English.
• Structured problem-solving skills and knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently with diverse teams, customers, and internal and external partners.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment and/or a cleanroom suit as needed.

Nice to have

• Previous internship or co-op experience in a semiconductor company.
• Knowledge of R or Python.
• Lab or pre-professional experience in semiconductor processing.
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control and/or Design of Experiments.
