Content Designer III - Experience Design (XD)

Location: Chicago HQ, United States, with potential additional locations under discussion and a flexible work model.

Salary: $128,000–$179,500 annual total cash range, with potential pay up to $205,000 based on sustained performance.

What you will do

• Design thoughtful, intuitive, accessible content for onboarding, in-app education, transactional flows, and push notifications.
• Develop scalable content solutions using information architecture, content modeling, content mapping, and UI frameworks.
• Audit, analyze, structure, create, and present UX content across Expedia and insurance product experiences.
• Partner with product and research teams to run content tests, improve traveler experiences, and resolve content bugs.
• Shape a cohesive content strategy for loyalty and membership experiences across product areas and brands.
• Improve accessibility, inclusion, readability, and translatability while influencing stakeholders and communicating design rationale.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of experience as a Content Designer, UX Writer, or Content Strategist.
• Experience with UX writing, content audits and analysis, content mapping and modeling, information architecture, content planning, conversational design, and storytelling.
• Ability to independently create user-focused product content using established frameworks.
• Strong presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills when working with Legal, Marketing, Security, Product, and leadership stakeholders.
• Experience applying human-centered design practices to product experiences.

Nice to have

• Portfolio demonstrating design thinking and UX writing, especially work that improved retention in loyalty and membership areas.
• Experience solving complex content problems for multiple user segments and across brands.
• Experience with emerging AI technologies, prompt engineering, and structured content.
