Staff Content Designer

Location: Remote US

Salary: $147,000–$259,000 base salary per year, excluding bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Write and shape content across the life insurance purchase journey, including landing pages, onboarding, checkout, post-purchase experiences, and product microcopy.
• Build narrative structures for major product flows and balance functional clarity with emotional resonance.
• Iterate on content collaboratively, present designs to leadership and stakeholders, and refine work based on feedback.
• Help evolve content standards, tone-of-voice guidelines, review processes, and content practices.
• Use AI tools and frameworks to improve content creation while defining appropriate tone, structure, and guardrails.
• Apply audits, competitive research, user interviews, analytics, A/B testing, and usability research to guide decisions.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in content design or content strategy with a strong independent portfolio.
• 2+ years working on direct-to-consumer digital products, with measurable impact on conversion or revenue.
• Strong storytelling, plain-language writing, content hierarchy, presentation, and collaborative writing skills.
• Experience simplifying complex or regulated subject matter without oversimplifying it.
• Genuine fluency and curiosity with AI tools, including prompt structuring for consistent writing output.
• Comfort with Figma and regulatory constraints, plus effective collaboration with product managers, designers, and researchers.
