Engineering Manager, Services (Python/Go/Ruby)

Location: Remote in Canada, the United Kingdom, or North Macedonia

Salary: CAD 150,000–175,000 annual base salary, plus benefits; benefits may vary by location.

What you will do

• Lead teams building backend services, APIs, integrations, and operational capabilities for hirify.global’s platform.
• Own measurable customer and business outcomes in partnership with Product, Design, Data, and Operations.
• Guide architecture and engineering decisions across Python, Go, and Ruby services.
• Improve reliability, security, performance, observability, service migrations, and production operations.
• Build a high-agency engineering team through clear ownership, coaching, hiring, feedback, and performance management.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and business leaders to resolve ambiguity and deliver valuable improvements frequently.

Requirements

• Experience building and operating customer-facing software or platforms.
• Experience managing high-performing engineering teams.
• Strong technical judgment across backend services, APIs, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and production operations.
• Experience with Python, Go, Ruby, or comparable backend technologies.
• Ability to turn complex, ambiguous problems into clear direction and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work remotely from Canada, the United Kingdom, or North Macedonia.

Hiring process

• Application followed by a 30-minute introductory conversation.
• Conversation with an Engineering Director, followed by two leadership and technical interviews with future peers and team members.
