Collections Specialist (Fintech)

Location: Manchester, England, United Kingdom. Hybrid work with a mix of remote and office work; occasional attendance at the Manchester office is expected. Working hours are 9:00–17:30, Monday to Friday.

What you will do

• Communicate with customers through in-app chat, email, and telephone.
• Support the implementation and delivery of arrears, forbearance, collections, and vulnerability procedures.
• Manage day-to-day loan lifecycle events within First Line Lending Operations.
• Help establish and shape the Lending Operations function alongside the Head of Business Operations and Head of Lending.
• Produce reports on key operational metrics.
• Liaise with underwriting and lending policy teams to improve lending strategy and risk appetite.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of first-line processes, including arrears, collections, and vulnerability procedures.
• Good knowledge of consumer credit practices and relevant FCA regulation.
• At least 2 years of experience working with consumer credit products.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Nice to have

• Previous experience working at a startup.
• Experience establishing lending operations in a fintech, bank, or lending business.

Hiring process

• People screen and quiz interview lasting approximately 45 minutes.
• Technical interview challenge with the hiring manager lasting approximately 1 hour.
• Head of Division interview lasting approximately 45 minutes, followed by an informal team meeting for successful candidates.
