Lead Compliance Engineer (Wireless Hardware)

What you will do

• Own the device testing and certification strategy for collars, towers, and supporting hardware across current and target markets.
• Manage third-party testing laboratories, certification bodies, and in-country regulatory consultants, including scope, cost, schedule, and quality.
• Drive carrier certification for cellular products from test-device logistics through laboratory engagement and network approval.
• Build in-house pre-compliance testing capability and laboratory partnerships to accelerate design iterations.
• Partner with electronics, RF, firmware, and mechanical engineers to resolve certification issues and achieve first-pass compliance.
• Maintain the standards matrix, certification register, technical files, and declarations of conformity, while monitoring regulatory changes.

Requirements

• 8+ years of regulatory compliance and certification experience for wireless or electronic products across multiple international markets.
• Deep knowledge of radio, EMC/EMI, and product safety standards, including FCC, ISED, RED, and RCM.
• Experience managing third-party laboratories and regulatory consultants.
• Hands-on pre-compliance testing experience, including use of a spectrum analyzer and failure analysis.
• Ability to work autonomously, set strategy, own the budget, and take responsibility for outcomes.
• Availability for approximately 10–20% international travel to laboratories, regulators, and manufacturers.

Nice to have

• Carrier or operator certification experience for cellular devices, such as PTCRB, GCF, or direct carrier approval programs.
