What you will do
- Coordinate cross-functional inputs and manage regulatory mission submissions for launch vehicle missions.
- Review safety-critical component test reports, identify out-of-family components, and manage Flight Safety System summary reports and regulator communications.
- Prepare payload permit applications and produce Payload Safety Assessments for low-hazard payloads.
- Manage mission-specific payload hazards and ensure spacecraft programs meet orbital debris reduction requirements.
- Train to perform the Launch Safety Official role during launch operations and monitor regulatory compliance.
- Conduct internal audits, maintain regulatory submissions during change management, and ensure timely annual reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- At least four years of engineering experience focused on regulatory compliance, requirements, or safety.
- Knowledge of quality management systems.
- Strong project management, communication, and technical writing skills.
- Eligibility to access ITAR-regulated equipment and data is required for the New Zealand position.
- New Zealand office applicants must undergo background and nationality checks.

- Knowledge of regulations and standards for space systems and operations.
- Experience with safety management systems and standards.
- Ability to interpret new standards and regulations.
- Understanding of engineering development and production processes.
