Company
is an aerospace and defense company developing autonomous flight systems designed to provide full-stack aircraft autonomy from takeoff to touchdown.
What you will do
- Design and implement flight controls for aircraft automation systems.
- Decompose system requirements into low-level flight control requirements for outer-loop and inner-loop control design.
- Create and use simulation tools, including Simulink control-law models and MATLAB and Python analysis.
- Participate in flight testing for system identification and verification of control-law performance across multiple aircraft types.
- Own flight-control systems end to end and deliver products to programs and customers.
- Collaborate on novel, certifiable systems for aviation and autonomy.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience developing control systems for fixed-wing aircraft, including classical and modern control design and analysis.
- Experience decomposing system requirements into high-level requirements for outer-loop and inner-loop control.
- Experience with model-based development and certification of flight-control systems, including MATLAB/Simulink or a comparable toolset.
- Experience designing, implementing, and testing software for real-time systems.
- Experience with linear model development, linear analysis, and frequency-domain gain-tuning techniques.
Nice to have
- MS or PhD in Aerospace Engineering or Controls.
- Experience developing never-before-flown control systems or extracting linear state-space models from flight-test data.
- Experience working directly with customers and representing a company.
- Pilot license.
- Proficiency in C/C++ or Python.
Culture & Benefits
- Innovative, entrepreneurial, and team-focused startup environment.
- Health, dental, and life insurance.
- Unlimited vacation.
