Senior Firmware / Software QA Engineer

What you will do

• Conduct validation testing for webcam and video products against quality standards and functional requirements.
• Develop, implement, and document validation plans covering technical specifications.
• Operate laboratory equipment and test benches to assess product performance.
• Identify, document, and track firmware and software defects while collaborating with engineering and other stakeholders on resolution.
• Perform objective and subjective image quality testing and benchmark competitor products.
• Communicate project risks and contribute to process improvements.

Requirements

• 6+ years of hands-on testing experience with webcams, video products, or similar consumer electronics.
• Experience in quality assurance or dedicated QA teams, with strong troubleshooting and defect-analysis skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, macOS, and iPadOS for webcam interoperability and validation.
• Knowledge of electronics, embedded firmware/software, and USB protocols used in video capture devices.
• Ability to use Python for automation and test scripting.
• Fluent English and the ability to collaborate in multicultural, cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Experience validating webcam, video capture, imaging, firmware, or software products.
• Knowledge of H.264, MJPEG, USB Video Class, video streaming, camera sensors, or optics.
• Experience with automated test scripts, laboratory equipment, image quality standards, and competitor benchmarking.
• B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• ISTQB certification.
