Senior Data Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote

Salary: $160,000–$210,000 per year, plus stock options, benefits, and additional perks.

What you will do

• Build robust ETL pipelines that enable user-facing product features.
• Collaborate with data science, product management, software engineering, analytics, and product support teams.
• Contribute to architecture decisions, observability tooling, and data quality initiatives.
• Develop scalable internal frameworks for prompt engineering pipelines and other AI workflows.
• Improve code quality, testing, documentation, and engineering practices across the AI/ML organization.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, backend engineering, or related data infrastructure roles.
• Experience designing and maintaining scalable data pipelines using tools such as Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Experience with version control, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and technologies such as AWS, GCP, Terraform, or dbt testing strategies.
• Ability to work through ambiguity and understand data needs with business stakeholders.
• Track record of designing high-impact data products and pipelines in fast-paced environments.

Nice to have

• Typescript or similar software development experience.
• Experience in insurance, fintech, or risk modeling.
• Exposure to MLOps or AI/ML-driven products.
• Experience building internal tools or frameworks, contributing to open-source data tools, or participating in the data community.
