Senior Platform Engineer (DevX)

Location: Los Angeles, California, United States. The role involves access to ITAR-controlled information and requires a U.S. person or eligibility for a federally issued export-control license.

Base salary: $165,000–$200,000 per year, plus company equity.

What you will do

• Build self-service Amazon EKS integrations with namespace governance, workload scaling, multi-tenancy, adaptive traffic controls, and traceability.
• Establish consistent application deployment workflows, golden paths, automated policies, and code-quality practices.
• Promote secure AI adoption by implementing AI guardrails, observability, governance, and operational capabilities.
• Engineer resilient traffic paths with timeouts, retries, circuit breaking, failure isolation, chaos testing, and automated remediation.
• Drive end-to-end observability standards and optimize latency, cross-AZ transfer, IP consumption, and load-balancer efficiency.
• Steward platform lifecycle management, documentation, diagnostics, migrations, deprecations, adoption telemetry, and engineer mentoring.

Requirements

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent and 8+ years of experience building and operating distributed or platform systems.
• Production ownership of Kubernetes and Amazon EKS environments.
• Proficiency in Go, TypeScript, Python, or C#, with disciplined source-control and code-review workflows.
• Working knowledge of Karpenter, Istio, ArgoCD, KEDA, CI/CD pipelines, GitHub or GitLab, Terraform or CDK, and GitOps.
• Experience with observability, SLOs, metrics, tracing, structured logs, L4/L7 telemetry, progressive rollouts, and policy-as-code.
• Must be a U.S. person under ITAR or otherwise eligible for a federally issued export-control license.

Nice to have

• Production experience with Karpenter, Istio, ArgoCD, and/or KEDA.
• Experience with chaos engineering and automated remediation frameworks.
• Familiarity with infrastructure cost-optimization tooling.
• Experience mentoring engineers or driving platform adoption across multiple teams.
