Lead Engineer / Tech Lead (Go)

Location: Remote from Germany, or from the Aachen or Munich offices. Remote work is available for up to 70 days per year from anywhere within the EU and selected countries outside the EU.

What you will do

• Build and evolve the EVCI product for public parking, fast-charging, and logistics customers.
• Develop the local gridBox controller using rule-based approaches and advanced optimization techniques.
• Design backend components for configuration, cloud energy management integrations, and admin dashboard interfaces.
• Spend approximately 70% of the role on hands-on coding and architecture.
• Spend approximately 30% of the role on technical direction, mentoring, and team development.

Requirements

• 3+ years of production experience with Go, or expert-level proficiency in Rust or C++ and willingness to work in a Go-based ecosystem.
• 5+ years of overall software engineering experience delivering robust production software.
• Practical experience with people management, direct team leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance.
• Experience designing, deploying, and operating resilient distributed systems, including Docker-based containerization.
• Coaching-first approach focused on advocacy, psychological safety, and enabling engineers.
• Experience with or strong interest in IoT networks and edge computing environments.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in the energy sector.
• SQL and modern analytics frameworks.
• Experience with Grafana.
