Business Operations & Expansion Manager

Location: Hybrid in Harwell, UK; candidates can be based in any company location and must have the legal right to work there

What you will do

• Coordinate the operational launch of new subsidiaries from implementation planning through go-live.
• Bring together Legal, Finance, People, IT, Procurement, and technical teams while tracking progress and resolving blockers.
• Integrate new entities into group governance, systems, and reporting frameworks.
• Design and document repeatable operational processes across functions and geographies.
• Drive harmonisation, maintain audit-ready playbooks and SOPs, and report on concurrent expansion workstreams.
• Use AI, automation, and analytics to improve operational visibility and reduce manual tracking.

Requirements

• Strong ability to create structure, build plans, track delivery, and identify delays.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams while maintaining attention to detail.
• Experience designing processes that work across different functions and countries.
• Credible communication with Legal, Finance, People, IT, and Engineering stakeholders.
• Confidence working with operational data and managing internal and external stakeholders.
• Familiarity with ERP and programme management platforms, particularly NetSuite and Jira, plus strong governance discipline.
