hirify.global is developing Physical AI and humanoid robots for real-world industrial deployment on factory floors.

What you will do

  • Own the functional safety lifecycle for a humanoid platform, including hazard analysis, risk assessment, SIL/PL determination, safety requirements, and validation.
  • Design safety architectures for emergency stops, safety-rated monitored stops, power and force limiting, and speed and separation monitoring.
  • Select and justify safety-rated controllers, sensors, contactors, and equivalent alternatives where standard components do not fit.
  • Lead safety certification efforts and own the technical file and technical narrative presented to assessors.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, controls, and AI engineering teams to integrate safety into the platform design.
  • Build test fixtures, procedures, and evidence to validate safety claims and track evolving humanoid-robot standards.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of safety engineering experience with industrial robots, collaborative robots, AGVs/AMRs, or comparable machinery.
  • Deep working knowledge of ISO 13849, IEC 62061, IEC 61508, and ISO 10218 or ANSI/RIA R15.06; familiarity with ISO/TS 15066.
  • Software safety experience under IEC 61508-3 in addition to systems-level safety engineering.
  • Hands-on experience owning product safety certification, including defending the technical approach to assessors.
  • Experience with FMEA, FTA, HAZOP, and STPA, with sound judgment in selecting the appropriate method.
  • Strong communication skills for explaining safety tradeoffs to executives, engineers, and external assessors.
