Director, GMP Systems (Biotech)

Location: South San Francisco, California; on-site

Salary: $90,000–$250,000 per year

What you will do

• Own and oversee business-critical and GMP-impacting systems, including ERP, MES and automation interfaces, QMS, PLM, integration platforms, and data and analytics solutions.
• Define and execute the GMP systems strategy for manufacturing scale and commercial readiness.
• Translate operational needs from Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Finance into compliant, scalable system solutions.
• Ensure accurate data flows for manufacturing execution, inventory, quality events, WIP visibility, inventory valuation, and cost capture.
• Drive root-cause resolution for cross-system data, integration, configuration, and process issues.
• Establish release discipline, documentation, validation support, priorities, milestones, and accountability for internal teams and vendors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 12–15+ years of experience leading enterprise and manufacturing systems in regulated product companies.
• Deep experience with ERP, MES, QMS, LIMS, and manufacturing data flows.
• Experience in highly regulated manufacturing, such as biotech, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, aerospace, or a similar industry.
• Proven ability to stabilize and scale underperforming systems, including hands-on work with configurations, data issues, and operational problem resolution.
• Experience building systems before commercial scale and translating complex operations into simple, scalable designs.
