Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Miami, Florida, United States or the New York City Metropolitan Area

What you will do

• Take ambiguous product ideas from concept through design, development, deployment, and iteration.
• Build AI-native features using agents, RAG, tool use, structured outputs, and evaluations.
• Own full-stack delivery across frontend, backend, databases, data, and model integrations.
• Build evaluation, telemetry, and feedback loops that improve AI reliability in production.
• Make pragmatic build-versus-buy decisions and track emerging model capabilities.
• Partner with product and operations to solve restaurant-related problems and ship solutions.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience building with LLM APIs and SDKs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or open models.
• Strong full-stack skills with TypeScript or Python and a modern web stack.
• At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience, including 3+ years building and shipping production full-stack applications.
• A public record of shipped work, such as open-source repositories, side projects, demos, or products with real users.
• Product-minded approach, independent decision-making, high delivery speed, and comfort with ambiguity.
• Ability to work in the Miami or New York City area under a hybrid arrangement.

Nice to have

• Widely used open-source projects or AI applications with measurable traction.
• Experience with agent and evaluation frameworks, vector stores, and production LLM tooling.
• Contributions to leading AI or developer-tool projects.
• Experience in marketplaces, logistics, delivery, restaurant, or local-commerce technology.
