Staff Engineer (AI)

Location: United Kingdom - Remote

AI-powered infrastructure is being built for specialty pharmacy to streamline prior authorizations, paperwork, and coordination across healthcare systems.

What you will do

• Own the technical direction of a core product and make long-term architectural decisions.
• Write production code and design systems spanning multiple components.
• Create design documentation and identify technical debt before it becomes a major issue.
• Design agentic workflows, including automated reviews and LLM-assisted QA.
• Build AI-powered features using RAG, function calling, and evaluation frameworks.
• Own delivery across workstreams, manage cross-team dependencies, and coach and hire engineers.

Requirements

• Experience building complex systems from scratch and explaining the technical decisions behind them.
• High agency and the ability to work effectively with ambiguous or changing requirements.
• Daily use of AI tools and interest in extending their application in engineering.
• Strong educational foundation in computer science or a related field.
• Experience with Node, TypeScript, and GCP is relevant to the current stack.
