Staff Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco or New York, United States

Salary: $240,000–$295,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Own complex, multi-person engineering projects from concept through production, defining scope, timelines, and delivery outcomes.
• Architect scalable systems for the AI-powered patient engagement platform.
• Work on AI agents, voice systems, and complex data integrations.
• Make high-stakes technical decisions in ambiguous and rapidly changing conditions.
• Mentor engineers across teams and raise overall engineering capability.
• Develop production-grade software compliant with HIPAA and healthcare security standards.

Requirements

• 7+ years of industry experience leading complex technical initiatives at a major technology company or high-growth startup.
• Proven experience building efficient, maintainable systems that support interactions across multiple teams.
• Experience independently leading large cross-team projects and being accountable for delivery outcomes.
• Ability to contribute across design, development, testing, and occasional support.
• Comfort with rapid iteration, experimentation, ambiguity, and learning from failure.
