Developer Platform Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, CA or New York, NY

What you will do

• Build and operate the engineering platform for efficient and safe software development, testing, and delivery.
• Design and maintain scalable CI/CD systems, source-control workflows, monorepo tooling, and developer productivity tools.
• Create self-service platform capabilities that standardize workflows and reduce operational burden.
• Improve build reliability, shorten feedback cycles, reduce engineering friction, and increase software delivery performance.
• Develop automation, policy enforcement, and governance mechanisms that scale with organizational growth.
• Partner with engineering teams to identify bottlenecks and deliver improvements to developer experience, velocity, and software quality.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with ownership of production systems.
• Strong experience with CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions, Buildkite, or similar tools.
• Hands-on experience with monorepo tooling and production-grade development in Python, Go, or TypeScript.
• Experience with GitHub APIs and webhooks at scale.
• Systems-thinking approach and strong developer-experience instincts.
• Experience with merge queues, large-scale source-control automation, CI/CD optimization, test infrastructure, flaky-test reduction, or hardware-in-the-loop testing.

Nice to have

• Bazel experience.
• Experience supporting source-control automation at a scale of 500+ merges per week.
• A track record of delivering measurable improvements in developer productivity and CI/CD.
