Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure & Developer Tooling (Robotics)

Location: Hybrid in New York City, NY, with 3 days per week onsite in the NYC office and approximately 4 days per month at the Glen Cove robotics facility.

Salary: $170,000–$210,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Design and implement scalable infrastructure and deployment pipelines for robot software.
• Build automated systems for robot software updates, provisioning, CI/CD, and environment management.
• Scale multi-cloud infrastructure for robot fleet management, telemetry, secure robot-cloud communication, availability, and cost efficiency.
• Develop observability systems for fleet health, uptime, usage, performance, deployment success, alerting, and incident diagnosis.
• Build internal developer tools for testing, release velocity, local development, environment provisioning, and standardized testing.
• Lead security, compliance, incident response, and infrastructure improvement initiatives while collaborating with Software, QA, Solutions, and Assembly Tech teams.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including leadership in DevOps and infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience with CI/CD systems, distributed systems, and developer tooling.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of cloud-native security practices, including IAM, authentication, secrets management, and network security.
• Experience implementing and scaling monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.
• Ability to work onsite in New York City 3 days per week and at the Glen Cove robotics facility approximately 4 days per month.

Nice to have

• Interest in robotics and automation; prior robotics experience is not required.
• Experience leading or mentoring other engineers.
