Developer Platform Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Own local development environments, the monorepo, build systems, and shared developer tooling.
• Build and operate CI/CD, pull-request workflows, code-review automation, and quality-assurance tooling.
• Integrate AI-assisted development and coding agents across cloud, regulated, and air-gapped environments.
• Measure developer friction, shorten feedback loops, and demonstrate before-and-after impact from workflow improvements.
• Drive onboarding, documentation, migrations, and adoption of new development workflows.
• Own the developer platform lifecycle, partnering with Engineering, Infrastructure, and Security on architecture, reliability, rollout, and iteration.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building developer-facing infrastructure, including monorepo platforms, build systems, CI/CD, or internal tooling.
• Hands-on depth with at least one modern monorepo tool: Nx, Bazel, Pants, Buck, or Turborepo.
• Strong fluency with CI/CD systems at scale, including GitHub Actions, Buildkite, CircleCI, or similar, with experience in matrix design, caching strategies, secret flow, and parallelism.
• Fluency in at least two of Go, Python, TypeScript, Rust, and Bash.
• Experience building automated testing or code-quality workflows trusted by engineers.
• Experience shipping developer platforms adopted by real engineering teams and measuring developer friction and the impact of tooling, CI, build, release, or workflow improvements.
• Strong intuition for developer experience, paved paths, and long-term maintainability, with the ability to own design, MVP, hardening, and adoption.
• Experience helping teams adopt tools and migrate workflows through documentation and practical support.
• Experience owning developer-facing systems with uptime and operational responsibility; familiarity with observability and incident response; and strong fundamentals in retries, idempotency, queueing, and failure modes.

Nice to have

• Experience building or integrating coding agents, automated code review, or AI-assisted testing with measurable improvements in speed or quality.
• Experience with sandboxed code execution, credential scoping, or security controls for development agents.
• Experience building or significantly contributing to remote build caches, custom build systems, or hermetic build pipelines such as Bazel or Nix.
• Experience leading polyrepo-to-monorepo or monorepo-to-polyrepo migrations at scale.
• Experience applying DORA, SPACE, or other developer-experience metrics in practice.
• Background in release engineering, supply-chain security such as SLSA or Sigstore, or artifact management.
• Experience building internal PaaS, development environments, or scaffolding generators.
• Experience building shared quality-assurance infrastructure, including end-to-end test harnesses, Storybook or visual-regression tooling, accessibility checks, or performance budgets.
• Open-source contributions to Nx plugins, GitHub Actions, coding-agent tooling, or related developer platforms.
• Exposure to multi-tenant, regulated, or air-gapped deployment environments.
