TL;DR
DevOps Engineer (Robotics) (AWS/Kubernetes/Airflow): Building and operating CI/CD, data pipelines, and infrastructure as code for humanoid robotics research with an accent on reliable deployments, dataset processing, and secure cloud infrastructure. What you will do

  • Build and operate CI/CD for the humanoid monorepo, including containerization, ECR publishing, unit tests, simulation gates, multi-architecture builds, and remote caching.
  • Develop test infrastructure spanning simple simulation, Isaac Sim, and physical robots through ROS 2 messages or the robot REST API.
  • Own Airflow-based data processing, from rosbag/MCAP ingestion and episode segmentation through format conversion and training delivery.
  • Implement dataset lifecycle controls and maintain registries linking datasets to subjects, sessions, robots, and purposes.
  • Manage AWS infrastructure as code across ECR, S3, IAM, VPC, EKS, ECS/Fargate, AWS Batch, RDS PostgreSQL, and networking.
  • Support researchers and systems engineers, troubleshoot live pipeline and environment issues, and maintain reproducibility, runbooks, and architecture documentation.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in DevOps, platform, infrastructure, or SRE roles.
  • Production AWS experience with ECR, S3, IAM, VPC, EKS, AWS Batch, and ECS/Fargate.
  • Hands-on infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform, CDK, Pulumi, or an equivalent tool.
  • Experience designing and operating CI/CD at scale, preferably with GitHub Actions and self-hosted runners.
  • Production Kubernetes, container build optimization, workflow orchestration, Python, Bash, Linux administration, networking, and observability experience.
  • Ability to work on-site in Boston, MA and independently own infrastructure as the first dedicated infrastructure hire within the research team.

Nice to have

  • Infrastructure experience in robotics, autonomous vehicles, or ML research.
  • ROS 2, rosbag/MCAP, Foxglove, Isaac Sim, Isaac Lab, GPU scheduling, or hardware-in-the-loop CI experience.
  • Experience with TB-scale sensor or video data, data governance, SOC 2 compliance, or access reviews.
  • Previous experience as the first infrastructure hire on a team.
