Applied Data Scientist (Cybersecurity)

Location: Rosslyn, Virginia, or remote within the United States. Travel up to 40% of the time within the US may be required.

Base salary: $120,000–$170,000 per year, plus bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Own data science projects from problem definition and hypothesis development through actionable deliverables.
• Convert customer-specific insights and solutions into scalable capabilities within hirify.global’s core products.
• Collaborate with embedded analysts, deployment strategists, forward-deployed engineers, programmers, and leadership.
• Perform advanced statistical analyses to identify trends and support diagnosis and prediction from operational data.
• Identify process improvements, recommend system modifications, and develop long-term data strategies.

Requirements

• Fluency in Python, SQL, R, or Matlab.
• Strong data needs analysis skills, including identifying the data and technical tests needed to validate hypotheses.
• Excellent communication skills, including translating technical information for non-technical audiences.
• Ability to break down ambiguous problems, work independently, and manage multiple engagements.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 40% of the time within the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience working with time-series data.
• Master’s or doctoral-level background or education in Data Science.
• Industry experience in defense, aerospace, or cybersecurity.
