Data Scientist (Fintech)

Location: New York City, United States (Hybrid)

Annual base salary: $185,000–$215,000, plus a 10% annual bonus opportunity.

What you will do

• Build, test, deploy, and maintain underwriting and credit risk models.
• Develop fraud and payments models and improve transaction timing optimization.
• Own the full modeling lifecycle from ideation through production, A/B testing, and monitoring.
• Establish best practices for feature development, model training, validation, testing, and performance monitoring.
• Analyze changes in the customer base and identify opportunities for product and business improvement.
• Collaborate with Data Science, Analytics, Product, Engineering, and Business teams while mentoring junior data scientists.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in data science, including modeling and analysis.
• Advanced degree in data science, statistics, computer science, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of machine learning principles, classification, prediction, validation, and hyperparameter tuning.
• Advanced Python experience with tools such as scikit-learn, JupyterLab, pandas, matplotlib, and statsmodels.
• Experience writing complex SQL queries, combining multiple data sources, and creating training datasets.
• Ability to develop end-to-end data science solutions, run production A/B tests, communicate complex concepts clearly, and collaborate cross-functionally.
