Animal Care Technician (Biotech)

Salary: $45,760–$54,080 per year, plus annual bonus

What you will do

• Feed, clean, handle, and move livestock while maintaining high standards of animal care and welfare.
• Observe animals, report unusual conditions, and support veterinary staff with treatments and surgical preparation.
• Perform estrus synchronization, hormone administration, and heat checking or estrus detection.
• Maintain animal-care equipment, facilities, health records, and herd-management records.
• Collaborate with farm operations and veterinary teams to complete activities according to company procedures.
• Follow workplace safety practices and hirify.global biosecurity requirements, including a rotating weekend schedule.

Requirements

• 0–3+ years of hands-on livestock handling or relevant animal research experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's or master's degree in animal science or a related field is also relevant.
• Must not have any other interaction with pigs outside the company.
• Strong time-management, prioritization, attention-to-detail, problem-solving, communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work in farm, shop, office, and animal-husbandry environments and varying weather conditions.
• Ability to walk, stoop, climb, crouch, and lift 30–60 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.

• Working knowledge of farm equipment.
• Knowledge of swine operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
