Research Technician, Implant Team (Biotech)

Location: Rockville, Maryland, United States; onsite

What you will do

• Perform survival surgical procedures on mice, including handling, restraint, anesthesia, tumor fragment and tumor cell implantations, euthanasia, tissue collection, and cryopreservation.
• Record study data in the laboratory information management system.
• Read, understand, and follow study protocols.
• Prepare studies by labeling sample tubes, organizing and stocking supplies, and maintaining laboratory organization.
• Work rotating weekends and holidays when required.
• Reach defined productivity expectations within three months of completing training.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in animal science, biology, pharmacology, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong computer skills.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and process-oriented approach.
• Ability to follow procedures and protocols consistently.
• Ability to work onsite in Rockville, Maryland, Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with rotating weekend and holiday coverage.

Nice to have

• AALAS certification.
• Two years of related experience in a contract research animal facility or similar setting.
