Principal Analog/Mixed-Signal ASIC Engineer

Location: Hybrid or onsite in Sunnyvale, California preferred; remote work may be considered. Relocation assistance is available.

Salary: $258,000–$294,000 annually, inclusive of target bonus, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Own the top-level architecture, tape-out, delivery, and validation of custom ASICs co-integrated with large-scale photonic integrated circuits.
• Make hands-on contributions to analog/mixed-signal ASIC design, layout, system-level optimization, and product strategy.
• Lead ASIC tape-outs at commercial foundries and coordinate a small team of ASIC design and layout engineers.
• Design and integrate high-precision circuits or high-speed optical and wireline interface circuits.
• Plan and execute verification for complex SoCs containing custom-designed blocks and extensive digital logic.
• Advance products from prototype through final production while collaborating with senior external partners.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of relevant industry experience in analog/mixed-signal circuit design and implementation using modern CMOS technologies.
• Deep expertise in high-precision circuits such as ADCs, DACs, bandgap references, voltage regulators, and amplifiers, or high-speed circuits such as modulator drivers, TIAs, serial-link receivers, transmitters, and equalizers.
• Experience owning top-level ASIC architecture, leading multiple commercial-f foundry tape-outs, and coordinating engineering teams.
• Hands-on experience with DRC, LVS, power integrity, signal integrity, Calibre or equivalent, RTL-to-GDS flows, synthesis, timing analysis, and place-and-route.
• Experience with SoC verification, RTL, Git, SOS, and commercial EDA tools, plus strong communication and presentation skills.
