Head of Engineering (Spatial AI)

Location: United States; Remote

Salary: $235,000–$285,000 USD annually plus equity

What you will do

• Lead and manage a multidisciplinary engineering organization spanning computer vision, backend, frontend, hardware, and firmware.
• Define and execute the engineering roadmap while balancing innovation, scalability, and delivery.
• Architect and build real-time, AI-driven spatial computing applications.
• Translate business and product requirements into technical solutions with cross-functional teams.
• Oversee feature and product delivery, ensuring quality, reliability, security, and customer alignment.
• Own technical decisions across infrastructure, data processing, and ML model deployment while cultivating continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field.
• 15+ years of engineering experience and 5+ years of senior management experience overseeing multiple engineering functions.
• Expertise in computer vision, AI/ML, sensor fusion, or robotics.
• Experience with full-stack development and scalable cloud architectures.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, delegation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to remain hands-on when needed and lead teams effectively through ambiguity.

Nice to have

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics, Computer Vision, or a related field.
• Experience with AR/MR technologies.
• Experience in retail technology.
