Senior Engineering Manager for Agent Platform & UX

Location: San Francisco or remote within the United States or Canada

Salary: $236,000–$289,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Lead and grow two engineering teams focused on human onboarding and activation and the agent-facing platform.
• Own the self-serve user journey from first touch through activation, initial monetization, usage expansion, feature adoption, and PQL graduation.
• Build programmatic experiences for AI agents through the MCP, CLI, API, SDK, and Blueprints.
• Partner with product and design to align engineering roadmaps with customer, growth, and platform needs.
• Hire and develop engineers while maintaining clear team identities and focus areas during organizational growth.
• Make architectural and product decisions and establish performance management and career development practices.

Requirements

• Strong people leadership, including experience managing and developing senior engineers.
• Experience building and scaling more than one engineering team, including hiring and performance management.
• Enough technical involvement to review code, prototype, and contribute directly when useful.
• Ability to operate in ambiguity, adapt quickly, and connect engineering investment to growth and activation outcomes.
• Ability to partner closely with product and design without taking over those functions.
• Ability to work from San Francisco or remotely within the United States or Canada.

Nice to have

• Growth-focused engineering experience in onboarding, activation, or funnel optimization.
• Experience building developer- or agent-facing products and integrating with Codex, Claude, Cursor, or similar AI coding tools.
• Background in developer platforms or DevTools.
• Startup experience or experience operating at a fast pace.
• Experience splitting or reorganizing a team as it scales into multiple teams.
