Senior Software Engineer (Node.js/React)

Location: New York City, United States; typically 4+ days per week in the office

Salary: $155,000–$220,000 annually plus equity

What you will do

• Lead complex technical projects from ideation and design through production and deployment.
• Tune dispatch algorithms to improve shift fill rates and build onboarding experiences that increase worker conversion.
• Design, architect, and build performant and reliable features, tools, and services using the modern MERN-oriented stack.
• Drive technical vision, influence product strategy, and conduct regular technical reviews.
• Monitor and maintain product and platform performance in a high-volume, two-sided marketplace.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to scaling the engineering team.

Requirements

• 4+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with Python, JavaScript or TypeScript, Node.js, React Native, and related technologies.
• Experience collaborating with leadership, product managers, designers, and engineers.
• Ability to connect technical work to business outcomes and take ownership in ambiguous situations.
• Ability to work in New York City with typically 4+ days per week in the office.
