Staff Electrical Engineer (Robotics)

What you will do

• Own electrical schematics from concept through production for industrial and manufacturing robotics platforms.
• Design and integrate embedded interfaces and communications including UART, SPI, I2C, I2S, I3C, EtherCAT, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and 5G.
• Develop audio, display, HMI, visual feedback, cable harness, connector, and high-speed SerDes subsystems.
• Define hardware interfaces for motor controllers, encoders, sensors, actuators, and safety I/O with firmware and motion-control teams.
• Lead design reviews, root-cause analysis, continuous improvement, NPI, and sustaining production support.
• Mentor engineers and establish electrical design, DFM, and manufacturing standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field.
• 8+ years of hands-on hardware design experience for Staff level; 12+ years for Principal level.
• Experience designing electronics for robotics, industrial automation, or demanding real-time embedded systems.
• Expertise in serial protocols, industrial Ethernet, wireless connectivity, audio hardware, display subsystems, SerDes, and industrial cable and interconnect engineering.
• Proficiency with Altium Designer, PCB layout constraints, laboratory instruments, and production hardware documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for design documentation and system-level architecture discussions.

Nice to have

• Experience with NVIDIA Jetson carrier boards, PCIe, MIPI CSI-2, and high-speed I/O.
• Experience with Texas Instruments microcontrollers or DSPs and TI development tools.
• Motor-control hardware, encoder interfaces, camera, LiDAR, or ToF sensor integration experience.
• Background in AMR/AGV, robotic arms, cobots, industrial inspection, or factory automation platforms.
