Systems Researcher (Blockchain)

Location: Remote; New York (Hybrid)

Salary: $180,000–$250,000 per year, plus token and equity package.

What you will do

• Design performant algorithms and architectures for storage and recovery in single-node and distributed environments.
• Research new architectures related to databases, operating systems, systems verification, multi-core algorithms, and systems architecture.
• Develop production-grade, high-performance systems software for Monad’s blockchain infrastructure.
• Work with a small, deeply technical team of engineers and researchers on challenging systems problems.
• Build and maintain public core software in an open-source development environment.

Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Significant research experience in databases or operating systems.
• Experience writing performant algorithms and production-grade code.
• Strong interest in lower-level system details and high-performance distributed systems.
• Working knowledge of C++, Clang, LLVM, GDB, perf, Unix, and Git.
• Resourceful, self-motivated, collaborative, adaptive, and curious.

Nice to have

• Research experience in systems verification, operating systems, multi-core algorithms, or systems architecture.
• Previous crypto experience is not required.
