Research Scientist (AI Security)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, CA or New York, NY

Salary: $100,000–$300,000 annually, with potential variable compensation, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Drive original research in automated reasoning, code analysis, and AI-driven security from hypothesis through publication-quality results.
• Invent and apply AI techniques to code reasoning and code generation challenges.
• Develop research artifacts, tools, and systems with practical impact inside hirify.global and in the research community.
• Design automated testing and fuzzing strategies to validate systems under development.
• Publish findings at top-tier conferences and peer-reviewed journals.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to translate research into the core AI platform and help shape research direction.

Requirements

• Deep hands-on expertise in automated reasoning, including static or dynamic analysis, formal verification, automated testing, or fuzzing.
• Experience developing or applying AI and machine learning techniques to code reasoning or code generation.
• MSc or PhD/DPhil in Computer Science or a closely related technical field.
• Track record of impact through top-tier publications, significant professional research artifacts, or widely adopted open-source contributions.
• Self-directed approach with the ability to identify problems, propose solutions, and drive work to completion.
• Passion for improving infrastructure security and alignment with hirify.global’s mission.

Nice to have

• Cybersecurity experience, including vulnerability classes, exploit techniques, or secure-by-design systems.
• Familiarity with cloud Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or CDK.
