Test Engineer

Location: Rochester, New York, United States. MKS generally hires candidates who reside in states where it is registered to do business. Some positions may require U.S. persons status for access to ITAR- or EAR-controlled goods and technologies.

Salary: $71,025–$118,375 USD annually, plus eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus.

What you will do

• Support the deployment, development, verification, validation, and documentation of automated test systems across global service sites.
• Coordinate multiple technical projects involving new equipment deployment, product transitions, and service capability expansion.
• Work with technical support engineers and service technicians worldwide to troubleshoot test-system issues.
• Create scripts, procedures, and instructions for test software updates and maintain an inventory of test programs on test machines.
• Build, design, and improve test fixtures and document hardware modifications for on-site service upgrades.
• Define facility, equipment, fixture, and test-software requirements for new products.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of related experience.
• Experience supporting or leading technical projects, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, and managing multiple initiatives.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, collaboration, prioritization, and organizational skills.
• Good computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work with electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and laboratory test equipment.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, waveform generators, and DAQ hardware.
• Familiarity with vacuum systems, pressure and flow measurement, and control systems.
• Experience with LabVIEW or similar automated test platforms.
