Senior Backend Software Engineer (FinTech)

Location: Barcelona, Spain; hybrid work with on-site attendance at the Barcelona office at least 3 days per week.

What you will do

• Design, develop, maintain, and improve cloud-based microservices.
• Build reliable REST APIs and integrate message queues and data stores.
• Own testing, deployments, documentation, and delivery of engineering work.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and engineering excellence within the team.
• Collaborate with Platform, QA, and other engineering disciplines throughout the development lifecycle.
• Participate in chapter meetings, knowledge sharing, and cross-discipline alignment.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of software development experience in general-purpose programming languages.
• Strong knowledge of .NET 5–8 or .NET Core 3.x and proficiency in C# 10 or later.
• Experience with unit and integration testing using xUnit.
• Experience implementing REST APIs with .NET Web API, plus familiarity with EF Core and LINQ.
• Understanding of SOLID principles, Domain-Driven Design, and common software design patterns.
• English at full professional proficiency and ability to work on-site in Barcelona at least 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS and Azure cloud providers.
• Experience with EKS and Terraform.
• Knowledge of MSTest or NUnit.
