Desktop Automation Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote (US) or In-person in New York (Relocation support provided)

Compensation: $160,000 – $300,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Lead the technical direction of the desktop automation platform, including the controller, VM fleet, and AI execution pipeline.
• Build and operate the desktop controller, managing session handling, remote access, and screen capture.
• Develop across the Windows/.NET stack and Linux server-side environments.
• Partner with backend and AI engineers to integrate desktop actions with AI models.
• Drive reliability and observability across the entire desktop platform.

Requirements

• Must be based in the US (Remote or NYC-based).
• Proven experience shipping production software with Windows/.NET development.
• Deep knowledge of Windows desktop internals, including Win32, COM, and accessibility APIs (UIA, MSAA).
• Experience operating Windows VM fleets or deploying applications at scale.
• Expertise in TypeScript, Python, or C#.
• Strong generalist mindset with a focus on building reliable, observable systems.

Nice to have

• Experience with Appium, VNC/RFB, Tailscale, Temporal, or Kubernetes.
• Background in remote desktop protocols.
