Experienced Equity Options Trader

Location: Chicago, Illinois; on-site

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 per year, with eligibility for discretionary bonuses for certain positions.

What you will do

• Lead and execute equity options market-making activities across equity index or individual equity options.
• Develop and implement trading strategies for highly liquid names.
• Analyze market data to identify trends, mispricing, and emerging opportunities.
• Build tools for evaluating positional opportunities, risk, and options liquidity.
• Collaborate with technologists, quants, and traders to systematize models and trading strategies.
• Monitor positions, manage risk limits, and optimize trading performance.

Requirements

• 3–7+ years of experience trading single-stock, index, or ETF options, ideally in a market-making environment.
• Strong record of generating PnL, managing risk, and executing strategies in fast-moving markets.
• Deep understanding of options pricing, volatility dynamics, and market microstructure.
• Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, or similar tools, with experience working with large datasets and building analytical or modeling frameworks.
• Strong decision-making, communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in finance, economics, physics, mathematics, engineering, computer science, or a related field.
