Conversion Operations Associate (401(k))

Location: Denver, Colorado, United States — hybrid, with office attendance approximately 2–3 days per week

Salary: $68,570–$84,000 per year in Denver; compensation varies by location, experience, and expertise.

What you will do

• Manage participant-level asset allocations during retirement plan conversions, including parsing, validation, and transferred-fund allocation.
• Reconcile trust reports and legacy provider data, including asset balances, fund mapping, participant elections, and allocation logic.
• Resolve cash movement, asset balance, and source-data discrepancies before plan activation.
• Establish participant loan records with accurate balances, repayment schedules, and payroll alignment.
• Protect historical data integrity for compliance testing, reporting, and 5500 processing.
• Collaborate with Client Success, Onboarding, Compliance, and Reconciliations teams while contributing to automation and tooling improvements.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in retirement plan administration, financial operations, or onboarding-focused operations.
• Strong understanding of pre-tax, Roth, and employer contributions, loan structures, and participant-level retirement data.
• Advanced Excel proficiency, including lookup functions, pivot tables, data validation, and error analysis.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment while maintaining accuracy.
• Strong analytical, systems-thinking, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to quickly learn new tools and platforms and collaborate across functions.

• 401(k) experience with plan conversions, asset transitions, participant loans, or trust reconciliation.
