TL;DR
Staff Validation Engineer - Wireless Radio Lead (BLE): Leading post-silicon validation, characterization, and optimization of wireless radio subsystems for ultra-low-power SoCs with an accent on BLE, RF performance, PHY characterization, and protocol interoperability. Focus on developing automated RF validation frameworks, debugging complex mixed-signal systems, and optimizing wireless power consumption and performance.

Location: On-site 5 days a week in NW Austin, Texas, United States

What you will do

  • Lead post-silicon validation, characterization, and optimization of BLE and other wireless radio subsystems.
  • Define validation methodologies, regression strategies, and automated RF test frameworks.
  • Develop embedded firmware, software tools, validation hardware, and laboratory infrastructure for RF characterization and compliance testing.
  • Design and execute validation plans covering RF performance, sensitivity, transmit power, coexistence, and power consumption.
  • Collaborate with architecture, RF, analog, digital, firmware, systems, and product engineering teams to debug and optimize wireless performance.
  • Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership in wireless validation practices.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in wireless radio validation, RF characterization, or embedded wireless systems.
  • Strong knowledge of BLE radio architecture, RF fundamentals, mixed-signal SoCs, embedded systems, ARM-based SoCs, and low-power wireless architectures.
  • Experience with C/C++, Python, TCL, embedded firmware, reusable validation infrastructure, and automated RF test environments.
  • Hands-on experience with spectrum analyzers, vector signal analyzers and generators, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer. Visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Bluetooth LE Audio, Matter, Thread, IEEE 802.15.4, or Wi-Fi.
  • Experience with antenna performance, impedance matching, wireless compliance testing, RF coexistence, and power optimization.
  • Experience with production test correlation, statistical characterization, silicon debug, and ultra-low-power wireless SoCs for edge AI or IoT applications.
