TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer (Backend) (Ruby/Rails): Building and evolving internal and external APIs, integration frameworks, and access management systems for an AI-first CRM with an accent on authentication, authorization, and high-scale backend performance. Focus on designing RBAC and policy-based access control, implementing OAuth2/OIDC, SAML, and JWT flows, and hardening multi-tenant identity systems for reliability and scalability.

Location: Barcelona, Spain; hybrid model with in-office work 2 days per week

What you will do

Own product areas involving internal and external APIs, third-party integrations, and access management systems.
Drive technical best practices for APIs, integrations, and IAM systems while improving reliability, performance, and scalability.
Own and evolve the in-house authentication and authorization platform, including the custom auth server and client libraries.
Design fine-grained RBAC, permissions, and policy-based authorization for a multi-tenant customer base.
Make technical decisions around OAuth2/OIDC, SAML, JWT-based sessions, and token lifecycle management.
Mentor engineers and partner with security, platform, product, design, and other cross-functional teams.

Requirements

Approximately 7+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 2+ years as a senior member of a team delivering end-to-end systems.
Hands-on experience building or maintaining authentication and authorization systems, preferably custom auth servers or identity providers.
In-depth knowledge of OAuth2/OIDC, SAML, JWT, session management, and token lifecycle management.
Experience designing RBAC or policy-based permission models and analyzing privilege escalation and access-control edge cases.
Backend experience with web APIs, modern object-oriented programming, relational databases, and diagnosing database performance bottlenecks.
Proficient English and availability for the Barcelona hub-hybrid arrangement.
