Senior / Staff Backend Engineer (Go)

Location: Remote within Germany, France, Italy, Serbia, Portugal, or Spain; candidates may also be willing to relocate to one of these countries. The role is listed in Milan.

What you will do

• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain applications supporting team and stakeholder goals.
• Build highly scalable APIs, robust banking services, and user-facing finance products.
• Co-own service architecture, resilience, scalability, and robustness using Domain-Driven Design principles.
• Write high-quality, well-documented code and contribute to testing and code reviews.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape finance solutions and support a growing user base.

Requirements

• Solid software engineering experience with user-facing products and large-scale web application architecture.
• Pragmatic, product-driven problem-solving approach focused on customer value.
• Strong focus on code quality, testing, and code reviews.
• Curiosity, openness to learning, and willingness to improve systems and processes.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work with technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Fluent English and eligibility to live in or relocate to one of the specified European countries.
