Senior Platform Engineer (Kubernetes)

Location: Remote within California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, or Washington. Headquarters: Brooklyn, NYC.

Salary: $170,000–$240,000 per year, depending on experience and interview performance, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Own fundamental cloud services and tooling, including cloud networks, security policies, and low-level infrastructure.
• Build and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform.
• Administer Kubernetes clusters and improve the security and reliability of applications running on the platform.
• Explore and architect new cloud platform features that improve developer experience.
• Support engineers with platform best practices and administer CI/CD and internal developer tools.
• Support production applications, address technical debt, and participate in on-call rotations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering, or Systems Engineering.
• Proficiency in a high-level programming language such as Python or Go.
• Strong understanding of networking, containers, security, and scalability.
• Strong Kubernetes fundamentals and experience with Helm or related ecosystem tools.
• Strong infrastructure as code skills and experience with AWS cloud services.
• Experience with observability platforms, CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, and on-call support.

Nice to have

• Experience with Vault, Sealed Secrets, Consul, Prometheus, or similar Kubernetes tools.
• Experience building and managing data infrastructure with platforms such as Snowflake.
• Cybersecurity or regulatory compliance experience, including HIPAA, SOC 2, or ISO 27001.
