Senior Fullstack Engineer (Python/React)

Location: Toronto, Canada

Salary: CAD 126,000–157,000 base salary per year

What you will do

• Build and deploy full-stack applications using Python, Flask, FastAPI, React, and TypeScript.
• Design proprietary insurance pricing solutions involving algorithms, modeling, and data visualizations.
• Translate business needs into secure, reliable production features in partnership with product management.
• Manage the full development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architecture, technical spikes, proofs of concept, development, and deployment.
• Maintain existing applications and improve observability through logging, metrics, tracing, dashboards, and alerting.
• Participate in agile ceremonies, RFC and ADR documentation, peer reviews, incident triage, and root-cause analysis.

Requirements

• 7+ years of relevant professional software development experience.
• Hands-on full-stack development experience with React and TypeScript frontend applications and Python-based backend APIs.
• Experience with major cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, Pydantic, or Celery.
• Practical experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, DevOps practices, relational databases, algorithms, data structures, and performance optimization.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.

Nice to have

• Exposure to large language models and AI development tools such as Claude or Copilot.
• Data engineering experience or familiarity with NumPy, pandas, or Polars.
• Experience with TanStack, React Hook Form, or Vite.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as Redis.
