Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS/Kubernetes)

Location: Remote in Mexico; Guadalajara, Mexico City, or Monterrey. Preferred time zones: UTC-10 to UTC-4. Participation in an on-call schedule and occasional work outside normal business hours for infrastructure upgrades and maintenance is required.

Salary: MX$950K–MX$1.3M base salary range, plus equity.

What you will do

• Improve deployment reliability, reduce operational risk, and modernize AWS infrastructure toward Kubernetes.
• Operate and scale high-availability, asynchronous, distributed systems and service-oriented architectures.
• Build Infrastructure-as-Code and self-service automation for the software development lifecycle.
• Design monitoring, observability, reporting, and incident-response integrations.
• Deploy Java applications and manage services such as MongoDB, Percona MySQL, and HAProxy on EC2.
• Collaborate with internal and external departments to architect secure, scalable solutions.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience as a DevOps or Platform Engineer.
• Experience managing AWS services including EC2, Route53, S3, ECR, IAM, VPC, and Security Groups.
• Proficiency with Terraform or Pulumi and strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, Ruby, or Go.
• Hands-on Kubernetes and EKS experience, including troubleshooting cluster issues.
• Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and understanding of Git-based workflows.
• Knowledge of networking, SDLC, scalable architecture, and PCI/SOC2 security and compliance practices, including PII protection.

Nice to have

• Experience with GCP or Azure, SQL and MongoDB databases, Redis, Cloudflare CDN/WAF/DNS, or serverless platforms.
• Programming experience with Python, Ruby, TypeScript, or Go.
• Experience with GitHub Actions, Codefresh, or GitLab CI.
