Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Kubernetes)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid work setup, with remote work also available.

What you will do

• Design, build, operate, and improve Kubernetes-based infrastructure for ACRA.
• Own networking, storage, workload scheduling, service communication, ingress, egress, DNS, certificates, and cluster-level security.
• Operate and debug production environments across GCP, on-premise, bare-metal, sovereign cloud, air-gapped, and customer-managed deployments.
• Develop multi-cluster networking, service mesh, distributed storage, infrastructure automation, and GitOps workflows.
• Improve metrics, logs, traces, alerting, dashboards, runbooks, disaster recovery, and production readiness.
• Define infrastructure standards and work with engineering teams to improve deployment, operations, monitoring, and debugging.

Requirements

• Strong experience in infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps, SRE, or production systems engineering.
• Deep hands-on experience operating Kubernetes in production, with strong Linux, containers, networking, storage, and distributed infrastructure knowledge.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, routing, load balancing, ingress, egress, network policy, and service discovery.
• Experience debugging complex issues across clusters, nodes, pods, networks, storage, and workloads.
• Experience with infrastructure as code and GitOps, especially Terraform, Argo CD, Helm, Kustomize, or similar tools.
• Strong operational judgement, ownership, communication skills, and comfort working in a startup environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Rook Ceph or Ceph, Cilium, eBPF, Istio, Envoy, cluster mesh, or multi-cluster Kubernetes.
• Experience operating Kubernetes or OpenShift in bare-metal, VMware, sovereign, air-gapped, regulated, defence, government, fintech, healthcare, or customer-managed environments.
• Knowledge of zero-trust architecture, workload isolation, identity-aware networking, runtime security, or secrets management.
• Experience with observability, supply-chain security, image signing, vulnerability scanning, SBOMs, admission control, or policy-as-code.
