Site Reliability Engineer - Spacetime UK (Kubernetes)

What you will do

• Design and build a centralized observability platform for satellite, ground-station, and airborne mesh networks.
• Integrate and scale metrics, logging, and distributed tracing systems using Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, and OpenTelemetry.
• Define and manage SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets for highly available production services.
• Automate deployment and operations with Terraform, GitOps, and ArgoCD.
• Improve visibility across Kubernetes clusters and GCP and AWS environments.
• Lead monitoring, alerting, incident response, and blameless post-mortems, including on-call support.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in SRE or platform engineering, focused on observability for large-scale distributed systems.
• Hands-on expertise with observability platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki or ELK, OpenTelemetry, Tempo or Jaeger, and Honeycomb.
• Production experience with Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and GitOps principles, including tools such as Terraform and ArgoCD.
• Proficiency in a systems programming language, with strong preference for Go and Python.
• Experience defining SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets for high-availability production services.

Nice to have

• Experience operating multi-cloud environments across GCP and AWS.
• Experience with GitLab CI, service mesh technologies, and application instrumentation in Go or C++.
• Active Secret clearance or higher.
• Experience with JVM observability for Java applications.
