Location: Los Angeles (Hawthorne), California, United States

Salary: $150,000–$225,000 per year, plus equity, commission, and bonus opportunities.

What you will do

  • Lead the design, analysis, qualification, delivery, and integration of avionics systems across all product lines.
  • Define and justify system architectures, interfaces, and requirements for motion control, communications, compute, power management, and related systems.
  • Establish qualification testing criteria in accordance with spaceflight testing standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship throughout system and component-level design.
  • Coordinate with software and mechanical teams to meet integration timelines and system milestones.
  • Manage technical, operational, and programmatic risks for the avionics team.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience developing avionics systems for space applications.
  • Experience with Altium or equivalent EDA tools.
  • Familiarity with communication protocols, instrumentation and sensors, and power electronics.
  • Strong technical communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Must meet U.S. Government export-control eligibility requirements: U.S. citizenship or nationality, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylee status, or eligibility to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 10 or more years of experience developing avionics systems for space applications.
  • Ownership of spaceflight hardware across design, analysis, qualification, and operation.
  • Understanding of radiation-induced failure modes and effects.
  • Experience conducting thermal, shock, vibration, and other environmental test campaigns.
