DataFrame SDK Engineer (Python/Rust)

Location: Remote. The company is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, with quarterly in-person meetups. Synchronous work is required from 1:30–5:00pm CET; candidates outside Europe or the US are considered case by case.

hirify.global builds open-source and commercial data infrastructure for logging, visualizing, analyzing, and creating training data pipelines for Physical AI.

What you will do

• Build and expand a query and dataframe SDK for intuitive, powerful data exploration.
• Work across Python, Rust, and gRPC layers and integrate with distributed backend services.
• Improve performance through query planning, push-down logic, and dataset versioning.
• Create documentation and examples that improve SDK adoption.
• Collaborate on dataset creation, versioning, and catalog interfaces.

Requirements

• Experience building Python data APIs, ideally dataframe-style APIs such as Pandas, Polars, Arrow, or Snowflake.
• Strong Python and Rust experience, or the ability and motivation to learn Rust rapidly.
• Experience writing high-performance software and debugging across Python, Rust, gRPC, and distributed systems.
• Ability to own projects from start to finish with limited hand-holding.
• Strong empathy for developers and a focus on clean, ergonomic API design.
• Availability for synchronous work between 1:30–5:00pm CET.

Nice to have

• Experience with Apache DataFusion or Apache Arrow.
• Familiarity with query planners, compilers, or execution engines.
• Experience with data-oriented or multimodal systems, including robotics, physics modeling, or simulation pipelines.
• Knowledge of async Rust or similar concurrent programming models.
