Staff Network Engineer (Zscaler)

Location: Hybrid in Menlo Park, California or Bellevue, Washington; Dublin is also referenced as a role location

What you will do

• Own and operate the Zscaler ZIA, ZPA, ZDX, and ZCC platform, including policies, application segmentation, traffic forwarding, App Connector topology, and log streaming.
• Troubleshoot secure-access incidents involving tunnels, brokers, connectors, SSL inspection, DNS, and DTLS, and lead root-cause analysis.
• Manage Palo Alto firewalls, Panorama, and GlobalProtect VPN while planning migration toward Zscaler solutions.
• Support Aruba wireless, Ekahau, and Cisco Catalyst switching, and deploy network devices and ISP circuits for new offices.
• Build automation, dashboards, alerting, and proactive network observability using telemetry and Snowflake log analytics.
• Support AWS, Azure, and GCP network constructs, author technical documentation, participate in on-call rotations, and travel internationally for short site-building assignments.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of enterprise network infrastructure experience, including 3+ years designing and deploying Zscaler ZIA/ZPA at scale.
• Advanced Zero Trust and SASE architecture knowledge, including ZTNA, proxy/SWG, SSL inspection, and cloud security.
• Hands-on experience with Palo Alto, PAN-OS, GlobalProtect, Panorama, enterprise VPNs, Aruba wireless, and Cisco LAN/WAN networking.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, TLS/DTLS, BGP, QoS, routing, switching, and 802.1x.
• Multi-cloud networking and site-to-cloud connectivity experience across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Python scripting, API configuration, ITSM management, technical documentation, and strong communication skills.

Nice to have

• Zscaler, Palo Alto, Aruba, or Cisco certifications.
• Experience migrating legacy GlobalProtect VPN deployments to ZPA.
• Familiarity with SASE, Terraform, and network-as-code/IaC.
• Experience in high-growth SaaS or cloud-native environments.
