Appraiser (Real Estate Valuation)

Location: Remote with frequent fieldwork at construction and remote sites; outdoor work in all seasons and weather is required.

What you will do

• Select comparable properties, analyze market data, and value residential properties using various valuation techniques and methodologies.
• Produce accurate, high-quality appraisal reports and maintain strong communication with the operating team and client contacts.
• Manage daily activities and assignment capacity efficiently.
• Receive mentorship and training from Senior Appraisers and occasionally work with Trainees.
• Maintain continuing education and credentialization requirements.
• Recommend improvements to business operations and data collection, and advise management and engineering executives on product decisions, process flows, and compensation plans when needed.

Requirements

• Certified residential appraiser with an understanding of valuation techniques and the ability to complete valuations for most property types and complexities.
• Proficiency in selecting comparable properties, analyzing market data, and performing residential valuations at a consistently reliable level.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
• High proficiency with technology, including software, apps, and databases.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage time effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated, ambitious, and willing to learn and grow in the industry.
• Valid driver's license for conducting fieldwork.
• Ability to communicate frequently, sit regularly, repeatedly use hands and fingers to operate electronic equipment, occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and reach, stand, and walk long distances over uneven or icy terrain.
• Comfort with extended outdoor work at construction and remote sites in all seasons and weather, including inclement conditions.

• Full-time role with compensation based on a percentage of each completed appraisal report, up to 50% of the total fee.
• After 90 days, compensation is the greater of a semi-monthly guaranteed rate or up to 50% of the total fee for each completed report.
